Bar Committee - 2007-2008
The committee is responsible for all events at the Clarington Beech Centre that require alcoholic drinks, it is provided by the Lions Club, under their sales license.
- Lions members volunteer their time
to raise funds for community
projects
- Liquor liability insurance is provided for each event
- Our objective is to provide a safe and pleasurable experience while
using the
Clarington Beech Centre
After a long and detailed application to the Alcohol and Gaming
Commission our
permit to continue operating the bar at the Clarington Beech
centre was
renewed until October 15, 2010. The application required a personal
history
file for each board member.
A new bar lease agreement was recently negotiated with the Clarington
Older
Adult Association which also runs until October 15, 2010.
The operation of the bar consists of:
- Contact the Older Adult Association
for advance rentals requiring a
bar, need
date, name and phone contact number.
- Contact the renter about a month ahead of the date to determine
number
attending, time the bartenders are required and any special requests
(wine,
beer, coolers, etc.) and who is paying.
- Pass a schedule around at a Lions meeting to get volunteers. (long
durations
such as weddings should be split up so no one has to work longer than
5.0
hours.
- Make sure the bar is well stocked and clean (ice, glasses,
orange juice,
liquor, beer, Clamato juice, etc.)
- Make up a float with change and bar balance sheet.
- Contact the members to remind them of the bar and the time they are
needed.
- Order from Pepsi to replace empty canisters with full ones.
This committee reports to the Board of Directors. Membership is for a one year term, though members can stay on the committee for longer periods.
