Bowmanville Nursery
School
The Bowmanville
Nursery School is owned and
operated by the Bowmanville
Lions Club as a non-profit community service.
Bowmanville Nursery
School has been a proud part of the
community for
over 60 years. In 1974 the Bowmanville
Lions Club acquired the Nursery School.
The Nursery School provides an enrichment program for 24 children, aged
2 1/2
to 5 years of age that includes an introduction to French, Music, Arts
and
Crafts and a variety of filed trips.
The Nursery School is located at 26
Beech Avenue in Bowmanville.
The school is involved with the Co-operative Education Program with the
local
high schools and colleges. This program has been in place since 1979
and gives
Grade 11 and 12 students experience in a work place and in our case, an
introduction to early childhood education.
In 1981 Children with exceptional needs started to attend and a teacher
with
resource training joined the staff.
The Bowmanville
Nursery School is a place
where a child will be busy,
happy, and safe. The teachers work together to provide a stimulating
environment in which each child develops socially, emotionally,
cognitively,
and physically. We also help to provide abundant opportunities for them
to
learn about the world around them and to master new skills. We are
dedicated to
providing an enriching learning environment for young children.
There are currently 3 fulltime employees including a resource teacher.
